Property Tax Deliquents to Face Deadline
1 min readPOTTER COUNTY – Hundreds of Potter County real estate owners who still owe their 2008 taxes face a deadline of Wednesday, June 30, to avoid higher fees and posters being placed on their delinquent properties. On July 1, additional sale preparation fees of more than $100 will be added to any outstanding bill. As of Friday, the number of delinquent properties had been reduced to about 450, as county personnel continue to make personal contacts with those who still owe, hoping to help them avoid the added costs.
Potter County Tax Claim Bureau accepts monthly installments on back taxes to make the redemption process easier for owner-occupied properties. Those who don’t make payment arrangements face the sale of their property to the highest bidder at the bureau’s Sept. 13 auction. Another important deadline for those who still owe their 2008 taxes is July 16. That is the date by which payment must be made to prevent public advertisement of a property for the sale.
The Tax Claim Bureau office is located in Suite 203 of the Gunzburger Building, 1 North Main Street, Coudersport PA 16915; telephone (814) 274-0488, option 1.
