Randy K. Shaffer

Randy K. Shaffer, 54, of 23262 Woodend Road, Tonganoxie, KS, formerly of Bradford, passed away, Thursday, December 16th, 2010 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, in Lawrence KS.

Born January 27, 1956 in Bradford, he was a son of the late Robert L. Shaffer and Audrey J. (Knight) Shaffer-Eidson who survives him of Bradford.

Mr. Shaffer was a 1973 graduate of Bradford Area High School. He was a member of the football team and a member of the high school rifle club.

He began his employment in 1973 at Kendall Refining Co. later  Witco Chemical Corp. when he left and moved to Kansas. He was a former member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Eagles Club.

Surviving in addition to his mother Audrey and stepfather Ray Eidson of Bradford, is his significant other, a daughter, Michelle (Ben) Baxter of Bradford and a son, Scott (Michelle) Shaffer of Las Vegas, NV, three brothers, Stephen Shaffer and Ronald Shaffer both of Bradford, and Mark Shaffer of Groton, Conn., four grandchildren; Jacob, Tristin, Nichelle and Jonas and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.

Family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, December 21, 2010, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9pm in the  Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. East Main Street and again on Wednesday, December 22nd from 10:00 to 11:00am in the Grace Lutheran Church where funeral and committal services will be held at 11:00am with Rev. Art Cox, interm Pastor officiating. Burial will be in Steamburg Cemetery, Steamburg, NY. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
