Rapture Parties and Pranks – ‘The End of the World is Nigh’
1 min readA well known Pastor is convinced the Rapture will take place tomorrow, May 21. Pastor Camping has even predicted an exact time – 6:00 pm to be precise. This isn’t the first time however that Pastor Camping has predicted the end. He claimed in 1994 that the world would end, but later recanted that prediction, saying he had miscalculated the exact date.
Many are taking the Pastor seriously, and have given away worldly possessions, while others are taking the prediction with a grain of salt. Some are celebrating the ‘End of the World’ with ‘Rapture Parties’ and other celebrations.
Even more interesting are the pranks that have sprung up around the internet. Many are planning on laying out old articles of clothing (like this picture) around town on sidewalks and lawns to convince the unknowing that the Rapture has actually taken place.
Whether you believe tomorrow is the end of the world or not, likely Sunday morning will come – and with it many hangovers and perhaps some unpaid bills.
Nice article.
I wish I would have read this article and seen the photo before I came to work today. Then I would have had “empty” clothes already positioned in my driveway. The rapture happens in 3 hours so I may still have time! How FUNNY!
WAIT! I have a $10 bet on Astrology in today’s Preakness Race in Baltimore at 6:15pm. Do I still win if Astrology crosses the finish line first WITHOUT his jockey?!?
