Killed were U.S. District Judge John Roll, 63; Gabe Zimmerman, 30; DorothyMorris, 76; Dorwin Stoddard, also 76; Phyllis Scheck, 79 and Christina Taylor Greene, 9.

President Barack Obama ordered all U.S. flags lowered and asked all Americans to observe of a moment of silence at 11 a.m. today.

  1. Amazing! A National Hero, Maj. Dick Winters, who commanded Easy Company during WWII, and about whom the series Band of Brothers was based, died recently. His death was announced today. Remarkably, our Governor and President order the lowering of the US and State flags to half staff in honor civilian victims of a shooting, but have made no mention of Maj. Winters. Are we now lowering flags to honor victimization or heros?
