HARRISBURG – In his three decades in public office, Gov. Ed Rendell has always looked with dread toward the end of his career.
That has changed, Rendell told The Patriot-News, particularly given the media frenzy this week spawned by rumors that he is having an affair with a staffer.
“I’m ready to get out,” Rendell said Friday. “It’s everything. Everything is so partisan … and nobody cares anymore about doing the right thing. It’s mind-boggling to me that I’m looking forward to Jan. 18, but I’m ready to go.”
