Harrisburg – Governor Edward G. Rendell this evening commended the General Assembly for passing the fiscal year 2010-11 General Appropriations bill, calling it a reflection of what can happen when leaders from all quarters and all parties come together to make difficult and important decisions in a bipartisan and timely fashion.
The Governor said he will sign the General Appropriations Act in concert with the remaining budget-related legislation yet to be approved by the General Assembly.
Those bills include the Fiscal Code, which defines the parameters of how General Appropriations funds are to be allocated, and the jobs bill, otherwise known as the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) project authorization bill.
The Governor anticipates those budget-related bills will arrive on his desk by the end of the week; possibly sooner.
