Rep. Kampf Introduces Bills to Reform State Pension System
1 min readHARRISBURG – Legislation to address the underfunding of Pennsylvania’s state employee and school employee pension systems was introduced this week in Harrisburg.
Rep. Warren Kampf (Montgomery/Chester) introduced two bills that would shift future state and school district employees to a defined contribution retirement plan similar to 401(k) plans prevalent in the private sector.
Rep. Kampf said his legislation would help reduce the burden on state government and school districts to meet skyrocketing pension obligations that are presently underfunded by more than $30 billion.
