SCRANTON, Pa. — A retired northeastern Pennsylvania lawmaker has pleaded not guilty to federal corruption charges.
Former state Sen. Ray Musto was arraigned Wednesday in Scranton. Prosecutors allege he took $38,000 in cash and services in exchange for using his influence to help a contractor and a person connected to municipal authorities.
The 81-year-old Luzerne County Democrat retired last month. He first joined the Legislature in 1971.
