Retired School Employees Continue Community Service

1 min read

pottercommish1Two representatives from the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees attended the Potter County Board of Commissioners meeting to emphasize the commitment of PASR members to community service. They cited a report showing that the retirees from Potter and Tioga counties performed 45,853 hours of community service in 2011. If those hours were compensated at minimum wage, PASR pointed out, their value would be nearly $1 million. To emphasize their point, in recognition of PASR’s 75th anniversary, they brought a check replica. Shown from left are Commissioner Paul Heimel, PASR officers Jim Krager and Cliff Wood, and Commissioners Doug Morley and Susan Kefover.
