Richard C. “Rich” Button, 62, of 2364 Big Shanty Road, passed away Wednesday, March 9th, 2011 at the Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born October 28, 1948, in Springville, NY, he was a son of the late Clifton B. and Marjorie (Raught) Button.

On February 24, 1971 in Olean, he married Carol A. (Zumstein) Button who survives.

Mr. Button was a 1968 graduate of Smethport High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy on June 19, 1968 and was honorably discharged on June 12, 1972.

He had been employed at Endeavor Lumber Company, W. R. Case Cutlery and Sons for 18 years and then at Tops in the Bakery Department, he retired in 2004 due to ill health.

Mr. Button coached Little League Baseball for many years in Lewis Run. He was an avid Steelers, Pirates, Penn State and St. Bonaventure Basketball fan.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Melissa Kohler and a son, Kevin Button both of Bradford, two sisters, Rose Benjamin of Bradford, and Randy Hanold of DuBois, a brother, Ralph Button of Hopefield, GA, four grandchildren, Hailey Kohler, Matthew Kohler, Evan Button and Connor Button and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents one sister Renee Button and one brother Ronald Button.

Family will be receiving friends on Friday, March 11, 2011 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. East Main St. where funeral and committal services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, March 12th, with Father Samuel B. Slocum, pastor, of St. Francis Church officiating. Military Honors will be accorded following the service. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.
