Richard N. Nickerson, 52, of Galeton

Born February 11, 1959 in Corning, NY, he was a son of Lillian (Cornelius) Nickerson Frost and the late James E. Nickerson. On October 5, 1985, in Galeton, he married the former Diane Falk, who survives.

Rick was an auto mechanic and worked at Bosek & Rankin Motor Sales for 24 years. He greatly enjoyed camping, music, playing guitar, and spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Diane Nickerson, and mother, Lillian Cornelius Nickerson Frost, are a son, Richard P. Nickerson, Galeton; three daughters, Crystal E. (Brian) Thompson, Coudersport, Joesie R. (fiancé, Raleigh Hillyard) Nickerson, Galeton, and Lillian K. Nickerson, Galeton; a brother, James (Mary Jane) Nickerson, Galeton; step-father, Paul Grondin, Spencerport, NY; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, Rick was predeceased by four brothers, Joseph, Carmen, Bradley, and Bud.

Friends may call at the Hess Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Collins Chapel, Galeton, on Sunday, June 5, 2011 from 1:30-2:30pm with Funeral Services following at 2:30pm. The Rev. John Knudson will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
