Shane Ellsworth Lathrop

Shane Ellsworth Lathrop, 39, of Port Allegany, died Nov. 22, 2010, at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport.

He was born Oct 12, 1971 in Olean, N.Y., a son of Andrew

Anne) and Ellie Berg Lathrop. On July 3, 2004, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., he married Kelly Flint, who survives.

Mr. Lathrop was a 1989 graduate of Smethport Area High School and had worked as a quality manager at PSM Brownco of Emporium. He was a member of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church.

Among survivors are his wife; his parents; four sons, Andrew, Blaine, and Sean Lathrop, all of Emporium, and Jack Lathrop of Port Allegany; a brother, Sean (Laurie) Lathrop of Port Allegany; and two step-brothers, Frank (Sandy) Mason of Eldred and Greg (Stephanie) Mason of Statesville, N.C.

Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Sartwell. Memorials may be made to Port Allegany Ambulance Association, S.W. Smith Library, or the Epilepsy Foundation. Arrangements were under the direction of the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes.
