SOUTHERN TIER, N.Y. (WIVB) – Police in the southern tier are warning the public to beware of phone scammers.
Police in Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties say thousands of residents in those areas have been getting strange calls lately. A pre-recording tells people their credit cards have been suspended. It then asks them to punch in their card and pin numbers to have their cards reactivated.
