Special Appeal For Support Of Dec. 29 Blood Drive

Community Blood Bank and the Potter County Commissioners are making a special appeal to the public to join county employees in supporting a blood collection drive on Thursday, Dec. 29, at the Gunzburger Building gymnasium in Coudersport. It will be in operation from 11 am to 3 pm. No appointment is needed.

Blood donations typically decline over the holidays, at the same time demand traditionally grows for blood to help accident victims, cancer patients and individuals undergoing surgery. One donated pint of blood can save up to three lives. Community Blood Bank services Charles Cole Memorial Hospital and many other regional health care institutions.

All donors who turn out on Thursday will receive a gift. Five donors each hour will win a coupon book valued at more than $25, redeemable at a local retailer.
