Spectacular Views of Venus and Jupiter Tonight
1 min readHopefully we will have clear skies so we can take advantage of spectacular views of Venus and Jupiter this evening. The planets will appear just three degrees apart in the western sky. Venus is brighter because it’s closer to Earth, compared with Jupiter, which is much more distant. Tonight Venus will be above Jupiter. You can find them by looking in the western area of the sunset. You will see the two bright points of light, with Venus being the brightest. As time goes by the gap between the planets will widen, but you should be able to spot them for the rest of the month. The last time we were treated to this “conjunction” of the planets together in the night sky was 2008.
