State Approves Potter County’s Stormwater Management Plan
1 min readPa. Dept. of Environmental Protection (DEP) has approved the Potter County Stormwater Management Plan, which was developed by the Potter County Planning Commision and adopted by the Board of Commissioners in July. DEP determined that the plan meets provisions of Pa. Act 167. The document has been developed over the past two-plus years by the Planning Commission, an engineer, and a team of township and borough leaders. With DEP’s approval, the plan is now sent to all Potter County townships and boroughs for adoption within 60 days.
Pa. Act 167 requires each county to develop standards to prevent flooding, soil erosion, road damage and related problems from improperly directed stormwater. Townships and boroughs must administer the ordinance locally.
Copies of the Stormwater Management Plan are available by contacting the Planning Office at 274-8254. The plan can also be accessed on the internet by clicking here.
Good news for people living in Potter County, especially since lots of rain is expected this winter. Better to prepare now then wait until its too late.
