Successful Second Annual Employees’ Wellness Fair

The second annual Potter County Employees’ Wellness Fair on Wednesday was a success, all the way around. More than 60 county employees turned out to take advantage of exhibits, booths, demonstrations, and other features — all geared toward helping them to improve their health and overall well-being. Many of the vendors and exhibitors from the inaugural Wellness Fair returned and several new ones were added. Among those represented: Charles Cole Memorial Hospital (body fat and bone density screenings), Cowburn’s Gym, Genesee Natural Foods, TOPS, Multi-Care Center, Cooperative Extension, Colonial Penn Insurance, AFLAC, St. Marys Insurance, Potter County Visitors Association, Highmark BC/BS, Dickinson Mental Health Services, and Robert Joseph Hair Salon.

The county’s Wellness Committee organized the Wellness Fair in response to studies demonstrating that healthier employees are more productive employees, improving efficiency, cutting down on absenteeism/sick days, and reducing employer health care costs.
