Susquehanna & Laurel Health Create Regional Integrated Health System

Laurel Health System and Susquehanna Health signed an agreement to create a regional integrated health system that will cover northcentral Pennsylvania on Thursday after eight months of evaluation.  That means that Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, The Green Home and North Penn Comprehensive Health Services will join Williamsport Regional Medical Center, Divine Providence Hospital, Muncy Valley Hospital and Susquehanna Health Medical Group under the umbrella of Susquehanna Health.   Spokesman Ronald Butler, President and CEO of Laurel Health System, says that their primary purpose is to expand local services, eliminating the need for patients to travel long distances.  For more information on the merger, please follow this link:  http://www.sungazette.com/page/content.detail/id/576689.html
