SUV Catches Fire while Towing Horses

WEST BRANCH TWP. – A Wellsboro woman and a 12-year-old girl were uninjured after the SUV they were driving caught fire along a stretch of Route 144 on August 18.

Police say 40-year-old Patricia A. Reese was driving south towards Germania when her GMC 2500 caught fire due to a mechanical failure.

Galeton and Germania Fire Departments responded to the scene.

Horses that Reese was towing were also uninjured in the incident.

Reese’s SUV suffered disabling damage and was towed from the scene by Dave Rawson.
