1 min read

GENESEE TWP. – A 16-year-old female driver was uninjured after she lost control of her pickup truck and crashed in an attempt to swerve and miss a deer on Friday, July 7.

Police say the teen driver was traveling north along Ridge Road when she swerved for the deer, ran off the western side of the road, hit an embankment, and then struck a downed tree, before coming to rest in a ditch along the western side of the road.

Police say the girl was wearing a seatbelt during the accident, and was not injured.

Her vehicle sustained damage to the windshield, hood, front-end and undercarriage. Kightlinger Motors of Coudersport towed the truck from the scene of the crash.

As a result of the crash, the teen driver will face charges for driving too fast.
