OSWAYO TWP. – An 18-year-old Genesee girl suffered major injuries in a crash on the Eleven Mile Road Thursday morning.
Police say Maranda J. Coyle was traveling west when she lost control of her 1997 Dodge Ram while negotiating a left-hand curve in the roadway. Police say the crash happened after Coyle’s truck exited the edge of the roadway, causing the operator to correct to the left. The driver then over-corrected back to the right, causing her truck to exit the northern edge of the roadway where it stuck a tree with its left side. The truck came to a final rest on its passenger side, facing southward on the northern roadside.
Coyle was taken by Shinglehouse Ambulance to CCMH and later transferred to Hamot Medical Center in Erie with major leg and head injuries.
As of the time of this posting, Coyle remains in critical condition, according to a spokeperson at Hamot Medical Center.
Thoughts and prayers for her and her family.
