Texas Man Dead in Tioga County Crash

MIDDLEBURY TWP. – A Texas man is dead following a crash near Hammond Lane in Middlebury Township, Friday.

Police say 38-year-old Sergio Moreno Lemus, of Fort Worth, TX, died instantly after the truck he was a passenger in hit a guardrail, rolled down an embankment and then flipped over.

Lemus was a passenger in a Ford F-250, driven by 20-year-old Ulises Sanchex Cruz, of Wellsboro, PA.

Police say after the crash Cruz fled the scene, but was later located and arrested on charges of Accidents Involving Death or Injury While not Properly Licensed.

Cruz was arraigned in front of District Judge James Carlson and remanded to the Tioga County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail.
