Former Gov. Tom Ridge has been tapped to serve as a strategic adviser to the Marcellus Shale Coalition, an organization of natural gas companies and affiliated groups. In that role, he will help that industry tout the positive aspects of expanding natural gas drilling in the Marcellus Shale reservoir.
The coalition announced on Friday it has signed a one-year, $900,000 contract with Ridge’s consulting firms — Ridge Policy Group based in Harrisburg and Washington, D.C. and Ridge Global in Washington, D.C. — to help with its public awareness campaign, said coalition spokesman Travis Windle.
