Traffic Delays Expected Friday as Route 872 Bridge Replacement in Coudersport Continues
1 min readCOUDERSPORT – Area drivers will encounter traffic delays Friday, Aug.23 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Route 872, as beams are brought in for the construction of the new bridge spanning Mill Creek. Three beams will be brought in and set into place for the new northbound lane. Traffic will be delayed for approximately 10 minutes each time a beam is unloaded and then installed.
The northbound lane is currently closed to traffic and an alternating traffic pattern on the bridge is being enforced by temporary traffic signals. The northbound lane is anticipated to be reopened to traffic the first week of October.
The bridge spans Mill Creek on the east side of Coudersport Borough, near the American Legion. The bridge was built in 1930, is 98 feet long and carries nearly 1,600 vehicles each day.
LTT Trucking LLC is the contractor for this $1.3 million project. All work is weather and schedule dependent. Drivers are reminded to obey posted speed limits and always buckle up.
