Truck-Lite Hiring New Employees, Not Pleasing Those Who Were Laid Off

FALCONER – The news that Truck-Lite has hired 100 new full-time and 100 temporary employees at its New York and Pennsylvania facilities this year isn’t pleasing everyone – mainly their old employees.
After laying off around 120 employees between December 2008 and March 2009, Truck-Lite has been hiring new workers and not recalling any of their former workers. With 200 new employees already hired and 70 to 100 more expected in the coming months, Truck-Lite will be doing no recalling of any laid-off workers.
Greg Certo, Truck-Lite human resources director, said those who were laid off could reapply for re-employment, but no recalls were made.
