ALMOND β An Alfred-Almond Central School District school bus carrying several students to school was rear-ended by a car that got stuck beneath it on State Route 21 in the Town of Hornellsville Thursday morning.
At about 8:20 a.m. Bath-based state police responded to a two-car accident, where an Oldsmobile 88 drove into the back of the school bus as it was stopped at the light β lodging the car underneath the school bus frame.
According to police, Trisha M. Clark, 25, of Maple Street, Hornell, was driving southwest when she failed to notice the school bus had come to a complete stop and her car hit the back of the bus.
βShe just glanced out the window for a moment and when she looked back there it was,β said Trooper Kevin Rowan.
Thirteen students were on the bus and two were taken to St. James Mercy Hospital, in Hornell for complaints of back pain. Both Clark and the school bus driver, 76-year-old Ralph Rossman, were uninjured.
Rowan said the injuries did not appear to be serious. Read more
