Ulysses Man Jailed in Connection to Dirt-bike Thefts

ULYSSES – Andrew S. Jeffers, 18, of Ulysses, was arrested and jailed on charges he stole several off-road motorcycles and various other items from multiple residences in Ulysses.
Police have accused Jeffers of stealing a Yamaha YZ426 and a 5-gallon can of diesel fuel from 42-year-old Robert A. Vetter, of Water Street; a Honda CR250, Kawasaki KX80, and a motocross helmet from 31-year-old Melissa M. Lewis, of Pleasant Street; and approximately 1 gallon of gasoline from 45-year-old Michael J. Thompson, of Jackson Road.
Jeffers was arrested and charged with multiple counts of burglary, criminal trespass, theft, receiving stolen property, and unauthorized use of motor vehicles. He was arraigned before District Judge Delores G. Bristol and remanded to the Potter County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail.
