1 min read

Detour in place for milling and paving work

Galeton – Work is continuing on Route 2002 in the Galeton area and PennDOT offers the following update. The work zone stretches for 2.2 miles from West Branch Township to Galeton.

Roadway milling and paving work will begin on Monday, Aug. 15 on a small section of Route 2002 in Galeton. During the milling and paving work, an official detour will be in place for all traffic. Drivers will be detoured using Route 44, and Route 6. All work is weather dependent. The entrance to the lumber mill in Galeton will remain accessible to all traffic.

In mid-September, slide repair work in West Branch Township will begin. PennDOT will issue a project update prior to the start of that work.

Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. of State College is the contractor on this $1.2 million roadway improvement project. Work is expected to be complete in mid-October.
