Update on ATV Accident in Ulysses Yesterday

HECTOR TWP. – Police have released details in the ATV accident that occurred outside Ulysses yesterday at approximately 7:00 pm.

Police say 26-year-old Laura H. Edelman, of Nazareth, PA, was traveling North on a 2008 Polaris Sportsman 850 along the Forks Road with a group of 4 ATV’s, when she lost control of her ATV due to engine braking. Edelman’s ATV then slid on the icy road and down over an embankment before hitting a tree and throwing her from the ATV.

Edelman, who was wearing a helmet, suffered minor injuries to her right shoulder, back and neck.

Members of Ulysses Fire Department 47 utilized ATV’s and 4-wheel drive vehicles to access the crash site before transporting the victim by ambulance to Charles Cole Memorial Hospital.
