Update on Crash that Killed Coudersport Man
1 min readHEGINS, PA – CoudyNews.com has obtained information related to the crash that killed a 23-year-old Coudersport man on Friday, August 26.
According to Hegins Township Police, Michael Novalany was driving South on State Route 125 (North Goodspring Road), approximately one mile North of the Town of Hegins, when he failed to negotiate a sharp right curve in the roadway.
Hegin’s vehicle then traveled 130 feet off the roadway and struck several large trees prior to coming to rest on its side.
Novalany was transported from the scene of the crash, but later died from his injuries.
A passenger in the vehicle, 26-year-old Jennifer Archer, of Kingerstown, was taken to Schuylkill Medical Center South by Hegins Area Ambulance.
No word on Archer’s condition at the time of this posting.
Novalany, who resided in an apartment near the China Garden in Coudersport, was reportedly traveling to the New Jersey area at the time of the crash.
Police say an investigation into the fatal accident continues. An autopsy of Novalany’s body has been ordered by the Schuylkill County Coroner’s Office.
Police say they were assisted at the scene by Hegins Area Ambulance, Hegins Fire Company, Valley View Fire Company and Hegins Township Fire Police.
