Update on Rt. 44 and Rt. 49 MVA

COUDERSPORT – Officials have released details involving the accident at the intersection of Rt. 44 and Rt. 49 on Sunday.

Police say Jacob Gill, 19, of Coudersport was driving too fast for conditions while approaching the intersection and lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle then left the roadway, traveled through James A. Jones’ side yard before impacting the foundation of the Jones’ residence.

No one in the home was injured, but the house suffered serious structural damage.

A 16 year old passenger in the vehicle suffered only minor injuries. Gill is facing several summary traffic violations for the accident.
