UPDATED: Police Standoff in Coudersport Ended Peacefully on Saturday Night

Updated: 46-year-old Timothy Cole, of Coudersport, PA, faces charges after threatening to harm himself and a Coudersport Borough police officer, according to Gerri Miller from Black Forest Broadcasting.

Miller reports that Cole told police that he had a gun and had been drinking.

Cole eventually exited the apartment peacefully, but suffered an injury to his head as police entered the front door of the residence.

Cole was then transported to Charles Cole Memorial Hospital.

A subsequent search of his residence yielded no gun.

Coudersport Borough police were assisted by PA State Police, Austin Borough police, Sweden Township police, and Coudersport Volunteer Fire and Ambulance.

Downtown Coudersport was shutdown earlier this evening.

Main Street was shutdown in the area of the Crittenden at the intersection of Route 6 and Route 49 by the courthouse.

Numerous law enforcement personnel as well as medical personal were on scene

Police officers were seen with guns drawn towards an upper level apartment above Fastenal.

At 8:11 pm the road cleared to be re-opened and Medic 6 with Ambulance 48 – 16 was en route to Charles Cole Memorial Hospital.

Eye-witnesses tell CoudyNews this was a stand-off with police. A man reportedly threatened to shoot himself or anyone that entered.

Sources tell CoudyNews that police were able to subdue the man.
