Winter Weather Advisory in Effect From 9 AM to 11 PM EST Thursday…

The National Weather Service in State College has issued a Winter Weather Advisory

For a mixture of snow, sleet and freezing rain, which is in effect from 9 AM to 11 PM EST Thursday.

POTTER–TIOGA–NORTHERN LYCOMING-SULLIVAN-MONTOUR-COLUMBIA- SCHUYLKILL- INCLUDING THE CITIES OF..

COUDERSPORT…MANSFIELD…WELLSBORO

*Location, north central mountains eastward through the endless mountain region of northeast pa.

* Precipitation type, a mixture of snow, sleet and freezing rain.

* Accumulations, snow and sleet accumulation up to an inch. Ice accumulation up to one tenth of an inch.

* Timing, a mixture of snow and sleet will begin after 900 am, mixing with freezing rain by afternoon and continuing through late afternoon.

* Winds, east around 5 mph.

* Impacts, untreated roadways and sidewalks may become slippery from a coating of ice. precautionary/preparedness actions… a winter weather advisory means that periods of snow, sleet, or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving. motorists should be especially cautious on bridges and overpasses, where slippery spots develop first.
