Bill would require women to view ultrasound before having abortion

HARRISBURG – State Representative Kathy Rapp (R-Warren County) comments on the significance of the Women’s Right to Know Law bill.

The bill would require all women to have an ultrasound, view the ultrasound, and wait twenty-four hours before being able to have an abortion. The law would also require clinics to provide information to mothers, such as adoptive options, information on child support liability for fathers, and an explanation of the entire procedure as well as risks involved.

There are currently twenty-one states which have similar laws enacted.
