Wellsville Man Charged With Cruelty in Dog Killing

An Allegany County man has been arrested on charges of killing his girlfriend’s dog.
Kristopher D. James, 20, of 111 East St., Wellsville, was charged with aggravated cruelty to animals, a felony, according to the Canandaigua Police Department. He was arrested Friday and sent to the Ontario County Jail. Information about possible bail was not released.
Police said the incident occurred in August at a West Gibson Street residence in Canandaigua. James is accused of throwing the dog, a cocker spaniel-poodle mix, out of a second-floor window, tying up the dog, and stabbing it to death.
