Woman Accused of Embezzling Nearly $1 Million
1 min readST. MARYS – A St. Mary’s woman has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges that she stole nearly one million dollars from her employer.
Forty-nine-year-old Ann Prechtel is accused of embezzling over $970,000 from her employer, Abbott Furnace Company, between 2002 and 2007.
Prechtel has been charged with mail fraud, theft, and possibly faces future tax evasion charges for not reporting the stolen money as income.
If convicted, Prechtel faces a maximum possible sentence of 135 years in prison and/or a fine of $2,500,000.
Are you serious 135 years. She needs to get time,but rapist and murderers don’t get that much time. Whats wrong with our justice system?
