Woman DUI in Route 6 Crash
1 min readPIKE TWP. – A Mcalisterville, PA woman suffered minor injuries in a crash on Route 6 in Pike Township on Sunday, March 13 at 3:40 am.
Police say 30-year-old Heather A. Henderson was traveling East on Route 6 when she failed to maintain control of the 1998 Ford Contour she was driving.
Henderson’s car first struck the guardrail on the southern edge of the roadway, then traveled across the double yellow lines into the oncoming lane of travel and off the roadway before traveling back across the road and striking the guardrail again. Her car then bounced off the guardrail and spun around, traveling backwards. Police say Henderson then accelerated her car directly forward and slammed into the guardrails again, before fleeing the scene of the accident in a Westerly direction.
Police say upon investigation of the accident they determined that Henderson had been driving under the influence.
A State Police news release indicated that Henderson will be charged with Driving on Roadways Laned. No court records were available at the time of this posting.
State Police were assisted at the scene of the accident by Galeton Goodyear Hose Fire Company and Galeton Borough Police Department.
Henderson’s car was towed by Gaines Garage.
