Fatal Motorcycle Crash Claims Life of 71 Year Old Woman in Tioga County

WELLSBORO – Ruth Howard, 71, of Sinnamahoning was the victim of a fatal motorcycle accident on Rt. 6 in Tioga County Saturday afternoon.

Police say that Howard was a passenger on a motorcycle operated by Robert Howard, 73, also of Sinnamahoning.

Howard’s motorcycle was traveling east on Rt. 6 when he lost control, traveled into a yard and spun out before impacting a garage. Both passengers were thrown from the motorcycle.

Ruth Howard was flown to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, where she later died in the ER. Robert Howard was treated and released at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital.

No information regarding criminal charges has been offered.

    So criminal charges are being looked at… well they should make it a crime for people to ride motorcycles. you are just asking for things like this to happen. 99% of bike owners drive like idiots and then pretend it is other people on the road that cause accidents. i am a FORMER harley owner and will never get on a bike again after watching someone wreck and die! get a clue! at least wear a helmet. Get mad at this post if you like but maybe it will save one person!
