Gaines Woman Suffered Minor Injury after Hitting Disabled Truck

ULYSSES TWP. – A Gaines woman was transported to Charles Cole Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries after she hit a pickup truck that had slid off the roadway.

Police say 45-year-old Sherry L. Phillips, of Gaines, was driving south on Route 449 in Ulysses Township, when she lost control of her 2003 Jeep Liberty, slid off the road, and then hit a Ford F-150 that had been parked after also sliding off the road.

Some of the occupants of the F-150 had exited the vehicle before Phillips crashed into it. The passengers of that vehicle were listed as; Seth C. Sweigard, 29, of Elliottsburg, PA – Zachary Lightner, 23, of Marysville, PA – Katy E. Radonovich, 22, of Marysville, PA – Mathew Miller, 28, of Marysville, PA.

None of the passengers in the pickup truck were injured.

Phillips’ Jeep was towed from the scene.

She faces charges of driving too fast for road conditions.

No charges were listed for the driver of the truck.
