National Hospital Week Community Events Slated at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital

COUDERSPORT – Charles Cole Memorial Hospital (CCMH) is striving to build healthier communities and the CCMH team believes that National Hospital Week, May 6-12, 2012, is the perfect time to offer wellness education and events to increase community awareness about prevention and management of important health issues.

The 2012 National Hospital Week theme “Making Miracles Happen” is woven throughout the celebration including the following free community health events:

May 8 –
§ “Simple Sensible Nutrition” wellness workshop from 6 to 7 p.m., CCMH Port Allegany Community Health Center.

§ Grief Connection bereavement support group at 7 p.m., Champion Orthopedics at CCMH in Coudersport.

May 9 –
§ Community Blood Bank drive from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., CCMH Port Allegany Community Health Center. No appointments is necessary.

§ Cardiopulmonary Department Open House from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The CCMH Cardiopulmonary team will offer educational materials, tours, refreshments, giveaways and free spirometry breathing tests on their new PFT equipment.

§ Alzheimer’s Support Group at 10 a.m., CCMH main conference room. For more details call 274-9301 ext. 1243

§ Weight Loss Support Group at 5 p.m., CCMH Emporium Wellness Center. For details call 486-1321 or 486-1876.

May 10 –
§ Cardiopulmonary Department Open House from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., CCMH Cardiopulmonary Dept.

§ Relay for Life team flower plants and bake sale, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., CCMH Irwin Medical Arts Center.
