1 min readHARRISON TWP. – The man who police say broke into the Galeton and Westfield Police Departments, has also been arrested and jailed on charges that he stole several guns from his stepfather.
Twenty-six-year-old Jason Daniel Morgan, of Westfield, is accused of stealing a single-shot rifle, a .357 Magnum, and an H&R .22 cal. revolver from the residence of Blaine Becker, 49, of Harrison Valley, PA.
Police say Morgan was living with his stepfather when he stole the guns, later selling the .22 cal. revolver for $120 and the .357 Magnum for $150.
Coudersport-based State Police say they have successfully recovered the stolen weapons.
Morgan was charged with 1 count of Theft by Unlawful Taking(F2) and 1 count of Receiving Stolen Property(F2) for stealing the guns.
District Judge Delores Bristol set bail in this case at $25,000.
Morgan is currently incarcerated in the Potter County Jail in lieu of a total $525,000 bail.
Sounds oh so familiar of one from Galeton, but he only got a very small fine for trying to take the chefs gun….When will we decide enough is enough…That’s right, the law changes upon who you are, and what you have…..
I think maybe you should check the facts on the information you are recalling because it may be a little different. He got a lot more than just a fine.
