HARRISON TWP. – State Police say they are investigating a crash that occurred on Route 49, approximately half mile east of Andrews Hill Road.

Police say a 2002 Ford Explorer, driven by 24-year-old Amber Risser, of Coudersport, was traveling west on Route 49, when she fell asleep and veered into the eastbound lane, went off the travel portion of the roadway and struck a guide rail with her right front fender. Risser’s SUV then went over the guide rail, traveled a short distance and came to rest off the travel portion of the roadway, facing in a northwest direction.

Risser and her passenger, 28-year-old Michael Risser, who were both wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, were uninjured.

Police say Risser will be cited for careless driving, driving without a license and driving on roadways laned for traffic.

The SUV was towed from the scene by Kightlinger Motors of Coudersport.

Ulysses Ambulance, Harrison Township Fire and Rescue, and State Police responded to the scene.
