Regional Summer Youth Employment Program Discontinued

From Potter County Today

nojobsGovernment funding cuts have eliminated hundreds of summer job opportunities for youths in Potter and surrounding counties. The information was shared earlier this month with members of the North Central Workforce Investment Board. During previous summers, teenagers and young adults had been put to work in public, community and private sector short-term jobs, but cutbacks in federal and state allotments for the program have resulted in its demise.

Cutting more programs for youth! Real smart while cutting back school funds and programs. Cutting back on funds for police and public service.
How about cutting your salaries and staffs instead.

These youth will have nothing to do now but roam the streets and parks.
    Good thinking.
