Teen Killed in Elmira Marks 4th Pedestrian Death in 5 Months

A 14-year-old boy from Elmira’s Southside was killed Thursday evening when he was hit by a car as he crossed Clemens Center Parkway.

Chance E. Simoens, a freshman at Southside High School, was struck by a car driven by Jeff M. Canfield, 28, of Elmira. Both live on the Southside, Acting Police Chief Mike Robertson.
