This class is designed to improve your composition and posing techniques in everyday family photos. We will explore ideas in small doses and then use hands on experience taking pictures with the new ideas in mind. Following picture taking, we will review 3-5 photos from class members on a big screen and use group discussion to see how the ideas were used. At the end of the class we will do a before and after demonstration to see how much we learned. This class is designed to change your mindset towards creating a picture, so we ask that you be familiar with your camera prior to entering the class. If you need help understanding your camera, please contact Tim for an individual lesson prior to the class.

Required Materials and Pre-Knowledge:

• Camera
• Digital, Film, DSLR, SLR, even a Disposable will work!
• Clear memory card or film – preferably a removable memory card
• Charged Batteries!
• Know how to work your camera:
• The class is about compositional techniques. If you need assistance with your camera, please contact Tim for an individual lesson on using your camera.
• Note book & Pen/Pencil – only if you want to take notes.
• Comfortable clothes/shoes
• We will go outside in the town square to practice taking photos! In case of rain we will stay inside.
