Additions have been made to make the Potter County government website more interactive and user-friendly. It can be accessed here: http://pottercountypa.net/. One link that has been added that allows internet users anywhere in the world to access certain property records on file with the Potter County Recorder of Deeds, through a contract with Landex. Potter is one of more than two dozen Pennsylvania counties in the Landex system. Register and Recorder Gary Kelsey (seated), shown with Landex computer technician Ronald Funk, reports that title searchers, genealogists and others with an interest in the county’s deed repository have been pleased with the easy access available through Landex.
Other recent additions to the county website are online access to dog license sales and interesting links to information sources on Marcellus Shale natural gas development. Department heads and elected officials are being encouraged by the Potter County Commissioners to update their sections of the website to make their services more convenient to the public. The site also includes abbreviated summaries of county history, attractions and scenic photography, as well as links to sources for more information.
