Anthony Step McCutcheon Faces Multiple Charges in Potter County; Case Moves to Common Pleas Court

COUDERSPORT, Pa. — Anthony Step McCutcheon, a 24-year-old resident of Westfield, Pa., is facing multiple charges in the Court of Common Pleas of Potter County. The case, docket number CP-53-CR-0000318-2025, was filed on December 10, 2025, and is currently active.

According to court records, McCutcheon was arrested by Officer Chip E. Scheller of the Coudersport Pennsylvania State Police on August 23, 2025, in Harrison Township, Potter County. The charges against McCutcheon include Driving Under the Influence: Controlled Substance – Schedule I – 2nd Offense (75 § 3802 §§ D1i**), Driving Under the Influence: Controlled Substance – Metabolite – 2nd Offense (75 § 3802 §§ D1iii**), Driving Under the Influence: Controlled Substance – Impaired Ability – 2nd Offense (75 § 3802 §§ D2**), Marijuana-Small Amount Personal Use (35 § 780-113 §§ A31I), Use/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (35 § 780-113 §§ A32), Vehicle Registration Suspended (75 § 1371 §§ A), Operating a Vehicle Without Required Financial Responsibility (75 § 1786 §§ F), Investigation by Officer/Duty of Operator (75 § 6308 §§ A), and Careless Driving (75 § 3714 §§ A).

McCutcheon’s bail was set at $5,000 unsecured by Magisterial District Judge Christopher Dominic Kalacinski on December 8, 2025. The case is currently awaiting formal arraignment, which is scheduled to take place in the Court of Common Pleas of Potter County.

On December 12, 2025, the court filed information replacing the original charges with the second-offense charges. The prosecution is being handled by the Potter County District Attorney’s Office, while McCutcheon is represented by attorney William A. Hebe.

It is important to note that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. The Potter County District Attorney’s Office will continue to prosecute the case, and the court will determine the outcome based on the evidence presented.
