U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, of Arizona, was shot in the head outside a grocery store in Tucson while holding a public event, according to NPR Radio.
Giffords condition remains unclear at this time.
It is reported that Giffords was shot at close range.
At least 9 other people were also injured in the shooting.
