Christian Response to 'Out In The Silence' Sees Big Turnout
COUDERSPORT – There were at least 80 people in attendance for last evening’s Christian Response to ‘Out In The Silence’ and related topics, an even match with the screening attendance.
The presentation was moderated by Robert Wagner with special guest Diane Gramley, President of the PA Chapter of the American Family Association. Wagner began the presentation by distributing literature that included Bible verses, quotes from ‘The City of God’ by Saint Augustine, promotional material from ‘Out in the Silence’, and press releases from the Obama Administration that support the Gay Agenda amongst other information.
Gramley distributed copies of the original letter that Wilson claimed called for a boycott of a local theater because the owners were lesbians. Gramley explained after reading the letter that it never called for a boycott, but simply raised questions as to the agenda of the venue, since it’s grand opening consisted of a performance by a transexual man who now calls himself a woman. Gramley also disputed some of the other information in the movie, and said most of it was edited to manipulate what really happened.
After a lengthy presentation by Wagner, which surely included some great material for Wilson’s next documentary, some in the audience expressed their opinions. The general consensus seemed to be acceptance of all people and God’s love for everyone, but that homosexuality was an abomination according to the Bible.
Wilson and Hamer videotaped most of the event, doing so discreetly at first, and later more openly after Wagner asked Dean Hamer if he was going to make him famous.
Hamer replied by saying, “If you say that about Lady Gaga again, I will”, in reference to a statement Wagner made calling the artist a ‘pig’ and stating that she was ‘not a lady’.
At the end of the screening both Hamer and Wilson badgered Diane Gramley for at least five minutes, attempting to get her to comment on a partial quote made by someone else, that could easily be misconstrued. After which I attempted to talk to Hamer and Wilson, with my camera rolling, but to no avail. They both ignored me and Wilson simply walked away, exhibiting the same type of behavior that he did after the screening of his film.
Since I learned my lesson the last time, I videotaped most of the event this time. I will have an updated report, with video, soon enough. Stay tuned.
