PA Releases Mentally Challenged into Community
1 min readHARRISBURG – Starting in the beginning of July, the State of Pennsylvania will begin releasing mentally disabled people into the community.
A federal judge recently declared the Department of Public Welfare was violating the Americans with Disabilities Act by not instituting a plan to get people out of state facilities and into the community.
I love how it says releasing…like they are mosters or something they’ve been studying and its a test if they survive. Wow..maybe they should’ve worded that a bit differently
The zombies are next!
um….hello?? the “mentally challegned” have been living in our communities for years, ie.e group homes, placement with families, respite care…and some even in their own apartments with living skills services available to them….and imagine this, some of them even have jobs, work hard, and function pretty darn well. (the rest of them are better known as politicians–oh wait, those are the morally challenged–different article altogether).
Uh, I thought they were already here. Sheesh.
The Mental Disable are in the community already, just look at our government, local and federal.
